There is! It’s buried in the settings under the “Stable 3D calibration” (paraphrasing) option in “Other settings.” I’m glad I found this out today.

You’re right, apparently there is an option to turn off the face tracking in the deeper system settings. I would’ve assumed it would be with the other toggles, like auto-brightness. Thanks for pointing this out.

I like the 3D on the 3DS. I’ve always used it. I agree with the penultimate paragraph a lot more than the last paragraph. To conclude empirically that Bayonetta is the best character, the players all need to be equally skilled, and they obviously aren’t. So you have multiple variables and can’t make that conclusion.
