Yeah, anyone who isn’t Japanese can/should say “see.”

FFVIII just got burned so bad by Nintendo Switch.

How did the title of the article end up at the end of the article?

Yeah, honestly, as bad as Edge is, I can’t imagine any corporation building a website that doesn’t work in all the main browsers. That’s nonsense.

I got this warning in VirtualBox the other day, funny enough. I had no idea it was a new thing, as I hadn’t used Windows in a while. What’s next, a popup telling me to use Outlook instead of Gmail? Solitaire instead of Fortnite?

I’d give him a year or so after launch.

Since I don’t star douchey users on principle, I removed my star from your original post. Good old-fashioned internet superiority complex—I bet you were real popular on Final Fantasy forums back in the day.

They should’ve just called the game “Spider-Cop.” It would’ve been more accurate.

It’s been like this about as long as I can remember. And there’s not really anything wrong with it.

I really don’t think cosmetics are a necessary part of a fighting game, despite the fact that Capcom chooses to pursue them. Most fighting games are good with providing some alternate colors.

Thank you! But you should’ve emailed it to Kotaku as instructed.

I find this new style and the Street Fighter 4/5 style grating far sooner than the Guilty Gear/FighterZ style. And I don’t think the Arc style really has any limitations when it comes to how it handles animations. They just choose to do things a particular way in the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue series.

I still don’t think that necessarily makes it a significant portion of the work. You’re assuming SNK opted not to do this for financial reasons, while I’m just saying it’s possible they opted not to do it because they simply chose a different direction. They could’ve justified the cost of pulling off something more

The entire point of Arc’s style is to make the classic 2D presentation look better. Mortal Kombat may have always been going for realism, making it suitable to transition to realistic 3D models, but something like Samurai Shodown was always aiming for a hand-drawn style back in the day, which is why the ultimate

I’m pumped. I’ve been wishing for this since around the time Street Fighter 4 came out. I played a lot of Samurai Shodown V and VI on MAME in college with my roommates, but it always felt like it could’ve benefited from a more modern presentation and wider aspect ratio. I hope it turns out well.

It takes some extra work, but both the Arc style and this use 3D models, the creation of which is the large part of the labor. The extra Arc touches like the cel shading and anime-style frame limits are presentational flourishes, not the meat of what’s going on.

In an ideal world, every game would look like an Arc System Works game. They’ve absolutely perfected the presentation. This game doesn’t look bad, but I vastly prefer the Arc approach when dealing with characters who have been living as sprites since their inception over 3D models.

Most people I’ve talked to voted for change and not for him specifically. “We needed to shake things up.” Because apparently “peace” and “stability” are boring and need to end.

As I said, I’m talking about that attitude, not really about Assassin’s Creed. I only partly played one of the games many years ago. As long as the game says it’s a fictional depiction of historical events, that’s fine, though I think a lot of people would still end up believing it’s how things actually happened

Reminds me of the time we were sending out discounts for Liberty Mutual insurance to alumni of universities using affiliation-unique URLs, and I was the only one at work who noticed the one for St. Francis University was libertymutual.com/stfu.
