I guess since I work in advertising, I’m just tired of it. It’s not that I’m not curious about how things work, but seeing every two-bit armchair economist come out of the woodwork every time just blows my mind.

I consider it as far as deciding whether I want to buy it or not. I would not pay $30 for a clicker nor pay for microtransactions in a clicker. I’m not a moron, I just think it’s silly when everyone whips out their imaginary business degrees every time video game pricing comes up.

Damn, I believed it until the twist at the end. When did M. Night Shyamalan start writing for Kotaku?

Reading this comment made me realize I am interested in video games and not the economics of pricing. I can’t believe people find this stuff so interesting. Who visits this site, a bunch of MBAs and economics students? Yawn.

The fact they they released a sequel, charged $30 for it, and are AGAIN making bank tells me they knew exactly what they were doing from the beginning and are still coming out on top. Despicable bastards.

In a major twist, it’s revealed that the only reason they sold so many copies is because everyone who was addicted to the first game bought thousands of copies each of the second.

I guess people thinking cops are referees is better than thinking cops are military.

Plans change, but not saying anything about it is shitty. February 2017 was the last time they mentioned it. Can they be penalized by Kickstarter for not following through?

They said like a year and a half ago that they were working on Hornet’s campaign. Not sure what has happened since then.

I never found Shovel Knight too hard, so I wonder. Different people find different things hard. I would imagine a game with melee combat and exploration like Hollow Knight would be harder than something with simple hopping mechanics and A-to-B level design like Shovel Knight. Actual hard games that come to mind for me

Why does the UK get a deal on the Oasis and we don't? £50 off! Come on.

I don’t really see the similarity.

I found it worthwhile.

I’ve always assumed Drake was unofficially based on Fillion, kind of like how the guy from Red Faction was clearly based on George Clooney.

No, it specifically says “players discover hidden minimap” which is 100% true.

The OP just used Columbus in the wrong part of the analogy.

One discovered the existence of the minimap; the other discovered how to activate it. Both are discoveries.

Also not legal in some places. Some places that allow home brewing do not allow home distilling because it’s marginally more dangerous.

Counterpoint: if you start with P5, it’s really hard to play P4 and P3 after that because of the noticeable regression in gameplay, graphics, and a lot of other things. The difference between P4 and P3 is negligible. I myself found it tough going from P5 to P4, and it took me well over a year to finish P4 because it

Hah, the villain was spoiled for me, too. I was talking about the game with my friend and she didn’t realize I had never played it before this year. I actually had a really strong suspicion it was that person, though, based on his/her arcana and the fact that he/she can be found hanging out at a place with lots of TVs.
