Preordered one within minutes of the first Best Buy preorder going up at 1:10am or whatever it was. It pays to stay up late and get notifications from @Wario64.
I wouldn’t say it’s very common. It’s a dying art for sure. Most professionals and studios use Pro Tools for recording through mastering.
There are still plenty of analog studios today. A lot of popular albums, at least in rock, in the past several years have been recorded on analog equipment.
You’re (mostly) correct about analog offering no sonic advantages with audio recorded digitally (although in side-by-side comparisons between vinyl and CD editions, sometimes the end result is that the vinyl has better dynamics). There are also no discernible disadvantages. It may not be important to you, but many…
Buying this more for Faye Wong. Her singing in Chungking Express is pretty great.
I thought you were referring to “the The” at first. Also a fuckup.
Yeah, but that doesn’t really have to do with realism. There are plenty of fun/interesting things a game could be about, things you can’t do in real life, even if a game is incredibly realistic. My earlier comment was meant as just a joke, but real life and realism are two very different things.
I don’t really care for realism in games or movies. It’s just spectacle to see how true to life fake things can be, which has got nothing on a good story. Realism for its own sake is not a redeeming quality, to me. So I’m not trying to defend realism here; just saying it has little to do with fun. There are plenty of…
I disagree. Any level of realism can be fun if the game design is done right. There’s no correlation, direct or inverse, between reality and fun. Otherwise the real world would never be any fun, and we know that’s not true. I think.
Shovel Knight is actually a lot easier on the JoyCon’s D-padless D-pad. Same for Tetris and Cave Story. I’m not worried.
Still looks better than Street Fighter V and that new Marvel/Capcom game.
Most of those are horrendous. The FFVII one is so bad.
I would’ve said pedantry is a dark side characteristic.
Drank some brews, played some games.
I brought my Switch to the opening of a brewery in Brooklyn and was not disappointed.
This is a really weird article. I don’t see what the medium of vinyl has to do with it. The best album to own on vinyl is your favorite album. Getting into the minutiae of analog reproduction of sound is such a minor detail and probably wouldn’t make a discernible difference in even the most avid audiophile’s choice.

Wait, for real?! I honestly am going to buy both versions if that’s true.
I have nothing at all against Ryuji. He’s nothing like me or anyone I am friends with, but he is who he is. Not everyone can be smart or logical. I got chills when he did what he did at the end of that one palace near the end of the game. Battle-wise, he and Yusuke are a little bit redundant because they’re mainly…
Sure, if your heart is beating at a resting pace. In battle, charging with a spear toward a dragon? Hmm.
