You would be pretty hard-pressed to find any fabricator that would describe the previous prices of steel as “low-priced”.

I work in an industry that relies heavily on manufacturing and assembling machines made of steel.

Jacking up the price of steel only hurt the economy, not helped. Sure, the steel companies will be making record profits, but that has led to just over 100 new steel jobs, while costing thousands of jobs across any other line of business that uses steel.
