You can’t separate fascism from nationalism. That’s a basic marker of the term. al-Sisi’s increasingly open and brutal authoritarian state has fascist tendencies. People you don’t like on the far-left (there is no alt-left, that’s an alt-right meme and a lie) are almost certainly not nationalists.

Weiss and Shapiro aren’t fascists, but they’re fascist adjacent. Just like some alt-right accounts aren’t full out neo-Nazis, but they’re Nazi-adjacent. They will advocate for those people, blind to their true nature or willfully ignoring it.
