I dunno, they seemed more like simple observations than jokes. It's not exactly wrong to say that older generations tend to have different values and standards for what's appropriate than younger ones.

I think the problem with the more clear cut cases of punching down is that the joke has probably been made by a thousand different middle schoolers on a thousand different playgrounds before. It's almost never not based on stereotypes or tired jokes.
