I mean, I’m 100% against for-profit prisons, but I don’t think I fully understand why everyone is so against the idea of a prison at all that it’s worth bullying the daughter of the guy building it? They just keep rambling about the “soul” of Riverdale without really explaining their concerns. I guess I understand

I’m honesty surprised trusting a teenager with mob duties has worked out this well for Mr. Lodge.

Just skimming this reminded me why I walked away from this show: it made its point far more effectively when it stayed at the level of ‘petty,’ and whenever it felt the need to go ‘darker’ it turned into a cartoonishly morose melodrama not entirely dissimilar from that which it satirizes.

It’s a fairly high signature requirement, which tells us that Riverdale is either a decent-sized city or that it has a long history of voter suppression. I’m gonna guess... the latter.

I literally laughed out loud when I saw that and the talk of the “Blossom Curse” so he went and joined the Merchant Marines because and why not...

Yes but it speaks to how poorly this show is written that my immediate reaction to this reveal was “Oh fuck off.”

I read a great interview with Madelaine Petsch & she was asked if she is now dating Toni does that mean she has to do the “serpent dance” (which, no). She said she would prefer not to & had told the showrunner that.

Continuity error, or Nana Blossom’s Evil Twin?

Jughead is mad at his dad for working for the criminal Lodges. Jug. YOUR DAD IS A GANGSTER. Also, YOU ARE A GANGSTER. What did you think they did, honestly try to help their neighborhood?

Reality TV is enough of a worthy cultural artefact to pull apart and play with. Forays into feminism and racism feel like silly detours for this show because for whatever bizarre reason they aren’t embedded into the characters, they’re instead treated like issues that can be basically resolved. I normally really value

I’ve heard this exact comment so many times, but in the context of the invasion of Grenada.

It’s probably one of the only consistent things in the show: Archie’s mommy issues. I gotta give KJ Apa credit for always making the same “but then can we have grilled cheese for dinner?” face after someone underserving gives him bad news.

Ok, I’m italian and the way Hermione said “omertà” and “capo” really takes me out of the story. Really. She uses the wrong accent for “omertà” and if someone is one of your “capo” he is one of your “capi”, plural. Also, “capo” means boss, so...

Do you think the Black Hood contacting Betty is going to turn out to be Chic on the first step to reuniting his family instead of the more likely Hal?

Next week on RIVERDALE: Archie becomes Mayor.

And who’s going to be the mayor now? Is there a deputy? Is there going to be a special election? Oh my god, we can have various parents running for office, and the event of the week would be a shitty fundraiser or even shittier debates.

They could be part of the brazilian mob, it’s not like italians have the market cornered on organized crime

Oh man, remember when Veronica asked Smithers back in S1 whether her parents were good people and was so relieved to hear that her mom was? Looks like Hermione fooled both Smithers and her daughter.

Chic was at his most Franco this week

Alright, I’ve been dying to bring this up here since I spent way too long researching this yesterday after my rewatch of the series.
