It's almost as if the writers knew it, because they devoted roughly equal time to each one. The Barney/Robin plot got top billing simply because it's more more dramatic and more long-term plot-relevant.

@avclub-b7784c8bc13cfa7214f249fef97abfe9:disqus true, but it could be argued that the first season benefits from being so short.  By virtue of having to pack more in, it loses fluff

S3 E1 was a strong start, no needed to be ashamed about that.  Even though some say it dipped hard in quality, it's still arguably my favourite season from the show.

Good god it was sweet to hear an accent other than Georgian (esp. poorly done Georgian, *ahem* Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan).  Shame to not hear that weekly

*Devoured by her man.  Take that as you wish.

How many new characters introduced and the three of them that die are all white?  It's almost as if they're making up for lost time

@avclub-d7b683529752a4d24d84c4941861a363:disqus Easy there tiger.  Your description of him taking the jacket is way weirder than the storyline.

Overall, I thought it was well-done.

I was always disappointed that Finn's mother was essentially unused after the first season, especially with the great effort by Mike O'Malley

"Good to see Finn finally gone. Though, had they killed the character off in the school shooting episode, this could have been taken care of months ago."

I wouldn't for Pierce.  For a full season of Donald Glover I would.

In Canada, we had a filibuster in spring 2011, so she could be simply making a filibuster joke, having been made aware of their context recently.

Neither you nor @avclub-dc10fce584f2cdf09d6690e0f2883227:disqus in his article are wrong in drawing that connection.  The first trade paperback from the Ultimate X-Men line was called The Tomorrow People

Part of what makes the Barry storyline worthwhile, for me, is that he is, well, not creepy and awkward, but certainly not as cool as Neal and Lindsay think he is.  He's finishing up his second year, but he hasn't figured out his major, he probably isn't that popular with the ladies (keeping his options open?

I believe Feig has stated in interviews that Daniel and Neal are the leaders of their respective gangs

So true. Ted may have condemned the Lily for her Front Porch Test, but you know he has no intention of losing her and Marshall as friends.

I understand that the Ward guy is supposed to be a caricature and that a lot of pressure is placed on the actor to be both awed by all this "Level 7" stuff as well as the team badass… but shit was he bland.  CW-generic hot and pathetically attempting to brood is not going to carry him very far.  Presumably he'll

Part of that has to be the low bar they needed to get into production.  The folks making Sleepy Hollow (which I have yet to watch) needed to sell their show with their pilot.  On the contrary, once he had the go ahead on the project, the pilot wasn't needed to guarantee its continued existence.  That level of trust is
