Shit, am I the only person who appreciated that line?  They aren't important characters and Will threw in a meta joke so the show could save a few bucks.  I mean, I was upset that they just dropped off the radar, but I definitely laughed in the end.

I understand that there has been quite the confusion, but yeah, Unique most certainly is a transgender woman.  She identifies as female, that's why we refer to her using feminine pronouns.  She even stood up to her parents to be in Unique persona all the time, rather than Wade for most of the time.
