You didn't have to make it specific to Texas, the GOP in every state will back this guy.

It’s the racist bone in his body. That’s why his leg was acting up.
I here you.. I’m in Texas for pretty much one thing (on business) and outside of that, its a state that if I have my choice of routes, I won’t even fly over, let alone land in.. (quite honestly, the way things are going, I would rather fly around the world (taking the Pacific or Atlantic ocean routes) than overland in…
It’s a double-edged sword to praise someone for being “dignified” and “mature” in the face of vile racist abuse. We should unconditionally defend everyone who finds some way, their own difficult and courageous way, to confront or deal with racist people. I’m sure the dad was much angrier than he came across and chose…
As a native Dallasite, I’m not shocked this would happen at Northpark . Even as an adult, I wouldn’t be caught dead in there, mostly because they have an open policy of harassing Black shoppers, especially at that Dillard’s. I worked at that mall in high school, the security team knew who I was and still followed me…
This being Texas, I gotta wonder if the Texas GOP is going to make a point of supporting the racist and harassing the victim.
Who made a joke in bad taste and has had made black women the target in his routines. Really this ain’t the flex you think it is.
Not just to Jada, but to the entire disabled/handicapped community. It’s not okay to pick on someone because of their disability or illness. There’s plenty of other things to joke about that don’t hurt people. Not to be the traumatized white woman posting (sorry. ;), but in defense of a Black woman who was just…
And I & many others are still waiting for Chris Rock to apologize to Jada for his tasteless joke but hey I am sure there are plenty more traumatized white women & Chris Rock relatives to act butt hurt right?
I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.
Bishop Whitehead and I agree on two things:
The state of Ohio currently has one trans student trying to participate in sports. As a result, the GOP there made it so anyone can force a child as young as 10 to undergo and a full vaginal inspection to confirm what sex organs the child has in order to participate in their chosen sport. I expect that while our Texas…
The problem is that minding your own business costs nothing, but fighting for OTHER people to mind their own business is extra work.
It’s a culture war, and this is just one of the battle fronts. We’ve had so much progress on gay marriage, but the hateful little bigots were always looking for an opening. And they saw one with trans youth.
The trolls have been playing the long game. Post a bunch of half-decent comments for a while to get out of the greys, then go hog wild when shit like this pops up.
In the community they call it deadnaming. Since I’m a generic cis white dude, I’ll just call it plain disrespectful. I don’t care about Twitter. We need to agree as a society that social media is trash and we should not be having our battles over tweets and facebook posts. MTG has no business being in public office…
And this is the exception, not the rule. “Gender affirming care” is not only surgical, and basing an entire body of practice on a single instance doesn’t make sense. I don’t believe that gender affirming surgery for teens is standard practice, unless one can show otherwise.
Now show all the kids who have transitioned successfully and happily and will testify that it literally saved their lives. (I can think of two I know personally right off the top of my head).
The apology should have included the statement that the employee playing Rosita was fired. Period.
“We will conduct training for our employees so they better understand, recognize and deliver an inclusive, equitable and entertaining experience to our guests.”
