Maybe if we all wait then all the nasty car dealerships will die off and new good car dealerships will grow in their place!

1st Gear: This guy’s particular situation may be “ok”... but...

You are right. If the market were truly “free” and “fair”, as economists seem to want, then the market would fix this issue. Manufacturers would be incentivized to create cars without this stupid and fraught subscription cash grab. Even if it was just a differentiator.

Need aftermarket mad max style metal shields to protect the car jewels!

Audi was never high on my list. Now it is completely off my list. Greed will be the death of us.

Besides what everyone else mentioned... legal issues make swapping troublesome. The “battery stations” would probably be liable in some way if the battery they swapped into your car failed and there was property damage or personal injury.

I think you can send an email to the author directly.

Dealers will continue to ruin the car buying experience.

I wish the orange sh**stain would just resign and let the nation start to heal.

Sweet another way for GM to kill people.

Agreed... and counterpoint to the quote. The extremely wealthy already do take the law into their own hands... just not as obviously... and usually just in the service of greed.

I’m cornfused... seriously... how come Subaru ranks so highly on consumer reports and similar sites?

That’s so they can hide Mazda's paint matching problems :(

Uh... not surprised. GM sux...  will never buy one after several bad experiences.

Agreed. They went too far... I have a 2015 and the lines are really nice. The mazda6 of that gen is even better.

This 100% ... If dealers had to truly participate in a free market and manufacturers could sell direct to consumers, we would get better pricing, service and support... <sigh>

HEY! I’ve been to that gift shop. It's in Hell in Grand Cayman! ... which is not hell...

Wim is having a hell of a goodyear!
