Yeah, but if it’s not on the PC it’s automatically inferior

VR PS4 exclusive? What a waste. Give me From Dust 2 instead.

I am a huge fan of Chahi’s work and I’ll be watching this one. This didn’t really tell me much of what one does in game, but if his past work is any indication, it will be something unique that sets itself apart from the glut of other VR titles.

Yeah, same here.  Neat looking art, but I don’t see anything there that makes me interested in it as a game.

I find it hard to get very excited. Sure, visually, it looks nice... but nowadays, there are tons of “cute” indie games like this. We don’t even know how that plays...

If it’s FF, flip the coin. If it’s DQ, main series is fine, spin-off don’t it’s ass. If it’s a return to an old franchise, don’t bother it’s trash.

Square-Enix shitting on yet another of their storied franchises? Say it isn’t so!

To be honest something about this game looked “off” ever since the first reveal. Incredibly stiff looking gameplay, with plain, subpar graphics to boot. The only thing it had going for it was that Yoji Shinkawa was part of the project - at least it has a nice cover I guess?

Seriously, at this point, we all just need to get a dedicated Square Enix coin we all flip to decide if their new game is gonna be good or not.

It really is disappointing to see a 3rd person action game that controls so poorly when so many other games have perfected their movement and gunplay. I agree that the concept and aesthetics are intriguing enough but the moment I started playing, I was yearning for the tighter controls of The Division or MGSV, because

It currently has a 77 meta critic score so while not the best game ever majority of reviews liked it. Personally I liked it quite a bit customization is not that limited though it does have some limits, you can’t just put any weapon wherever you want.

This article is a complete and utter sham and you should be ashamed of yourself. Overlooking Wall Street Ninja 2, which took what made the first game great, and refined it and expanded the lore, the stakes and the romantic plots is a disgrace.

Not going to disagree with you here. I absolutely love mindless fun and Crackdown delivers that. The caveat to that is I would not have purchased this game. Being able to play on Gamepass makes this game much more attractive. I’m already subscribed for the next two years and the GP program is already worth the cost

Oh my god. I love that movie. If this game is even half as funny, it’ll really be something! (And such a clever idea for a VR experience!)

That’s the gameplay loop, not the plot. The plot for most games, except I guess the Souls series, where resurrection is an actual part of the story, is “the hero makes it to the end without dying.” There’s no asterisk next to that statement - from both the NPCs’ and the PC’s perspectives they main character never

So the VR gimmick of throwing shit around and making a mess of things, with the narrative justification that allows for the main character to be a complete wackadoodle without any consequences? This could be interesting.

Nice. This idea could have some potential. I might be more stoked though because I just watched the film again last night. I’m not really crazy about the art style, but the idea of multiple threads happening at once waiting for the player to discover and interact with looks pretty cool.

Isn’t this the plot to every video game? Like... keep trying til you get it right? What I’m saying is Dark Souls is the Groundhog’s Day of video games.

Wow I pre-registered for this game and only just learned it’s out from you. Friendship with Google Play ended. Kotaku is now my best friend.

I’m enjoying it so far! They’re so gosh-darned adorable looking and includes characters I really wanted to be in the main Dissidia games too! Alrighty, Vivi!
