He was distracted by thinking about whether he needed to buy 3 different Father’s Day gifts since technically they’re all for the same guy.

I get that, but the employee doesn’t get to decide the requirements of their own job. The answer to “who cares where it happens” is “her boss,” apparently. And the “who cares how many hours we work if the work gets done” thing is extremely telling too, because that’s what people say when they’re not working a full day…
So if I’m correctly interpreting this giant wall of aggressive crazy correctly, basically the story here is that she skipped work while her boss was out of town and her boss fired her when she found out?
Well goddamn, what a travesty! Who could have possibly seen that coming except literally everyone that has ever had…
I know. I mean, it’s been flying in some form for over 40 years. How have we not figured it out by now?
Depends. How many more swimming pools do Lockheed Martin execs want?
Jesus Christ, can’t we do anything right? How much money has to be thrown at a weapons system before it gets “right?”
So DeMario says he was too drunk to consent, and Corinne says she was too drunk to consent.
Henry Ford was a righteous Jew hating bastard and never lost control due to the stock structure. His heirs still hold the ultimate behind the scenes control.
This is a bad take. If he has any blackmail material, it would be about him and his cohorts. Why are you even guessing after the article clearly outlined the reason that he is still in power? He has enough voting shares to stack the board in his favor.
TLDR; Board works for shareholders; Travis has all the shares.
Saudi Arabia is undoubtedly the greatest sponsor of terrorism and Islamic extremism in the world. Currently, they are behind the genocidal war in Yemen, where in some parts Saudi air has bombed every port, gas station, water tank, and an ox cart, resulting in mass starvation of people and effectively a genocide. But I…
That is a lot of fancy toys for a country who’s military is staffed with mercs who will likely turn on their master on a moment’s notice.
It is insane, perhaps even too insane to be true.
Part of that is they no longer supplement their income from things that come loose in shipping, which is a huge cost savings. Not having inventory evaporate in the shipping process is a notable savings due entirely to containers.
it hasn’t changed. my ex used to work on the docks. some nights he would literally draw circles on a piece of paper for the whole shift, “counting” containers and such. total racket.
There was an interesting anecdote I heard several years ago in college that the longshoremen and dock workers keep companies doing certain tasks with pencil and paper still because modernizing and going completely electronic would cause some jobs to be eliminated due to improved efficiency. So if you’ve ever wondered…
All of the workers? No. The skilled engineers, operators, and tradesmen of the system deserve the salaries they get paid.
LIRR ticket cashiers sit behind bulletproof glass in a temperature controlled building (the few remaining in the hub stations, most stations have phased them out in favor of machines since my uncle retired in 2005). It’s far from hazardous and nothing like a highway toll booth.
Here’s the “system”: Unions make excessive demands. Politicians accede to said demands. Unions contribute to said politicians. Repeat until end of time. Concerns for the taxpayer and fare payer are nil.
I agree, if the worker can get his, more power to him. But a system that lets that happen in the first place is obviously broken. $90k/yr to take tickets and then a pension that’s the same amount every year? That’s insane, and it’s no wonder virtually every pension system in America ends up collapsing.
