George Foreman wouldn’t have had a problem.
Oh for fucks sake Charlie Strong is one of the few people in college football who doesn’t seem like the scum of the earth. One who actually takes the idea of helping players grow as individuals seriously. This is a judge in Florida. If Strong is the first thing out of south Florida to have caused you shame, either…
So did Andre Ware, Gino Torreta, Charlie Ward, Eric Crouch...
Look man, I don’t know how to tell you this, but .232 in Single A ball is not good. Being the 69th ranked batter out of 109 batters in Single A is not good. By definition, both within Single A and across the broader spectrum of minor league baseball, that sucks.
The vast majority of single A players are fresh draftees who are in their early 20s that have a good chance to improve.
Extremely rare? I’d call that extremely well done.
To be fair, almost everyone who has started a business or two inevitably goes into business with the occasional dead-weight.
Yes, this is exactly my takeaway as well. HGTV wasn’t signing Magnolia, a $10,000 “business”. They were signing Chip and Joanna Gaines. He bought his partners out to keep the name and the store Joanna was basically running. I can see how that might sting lifelong friends, but it doesn’t mean they legally or even…
1) Service Academy Cadets are not yet full members of the military. They are permitted to transfer to civilian schools should they decide a military career is not for them. In fact, if a player emerges as a potential professional athlete, it’s not uncommon for some to then transfer to a civilian school. This is not…
This went well for you.
Holy shit. Nobody said he doesn’t want to serve, dickwad. I’m sure Robinette has every intention of serving his two years on active duty or else he wouldn’t have chosen to go to Air Force four years ago.
I agree 100%. If that’s what he was told, it’s unfair to do this to him now.
Well, generally it’s good PR for the military to have reservists on national television every week.
I have no problem with athletes being told to immediately serve, but they should have issued the policy saying “nobody is going to get a deferment who is enrolling now.”
I mean the flipside is what these athletes were offered when they committed to AF Academy or West Point. For the last 25 years, the service academies permitted athletes to defer their 2 years of active service, and they almost certainly expected the same would hold true for them.
That’s a fine policy going forward, but maybe they shouldn’t lead players to think they can go right to the NFL if they’re good enough, then wait until after they’ve done accelerated coursework, endured the NFL’s physical workouts and interview grind, and invited friends and family to watch them get drafted only to…
Maybe you should have taken a “free government ride” to learn what “deferred” means.
This clause is protection for people who inadvertently gain access to the matter, or people like significant others who had permission to access it. The requirement for intent to do harm or is protection for innocent people, nothing more. I mean, technically the prosecutors could even be charged for investigating…
It also opens the door to the possibility that someone could be prosecuted because their significant other’s photos were hacked from their personal cloud storage. I know during the celebrity hacking scandal there were some people guessing that it wasn’t the women who were hacked, but rather the people they sent the…
“She also noted that the regulation includes an “intent requirement,” which means that, to be found guilty, the perpetrator needs to also be found to have had intent to profit from the distribution, or intent to humiliate, or reckless disregard for the well-being of the depicted person.”
