The Starks are old-fashioned about their honor, and I believe there's always been a Stark son or bastard in the Night's Watch, so for Robb, joining the Watch is a great honor. Even though the Watch is only a shadow of what it once was.

I loved that in the Margaery-Sansa scene, Margaery was wearing almost nothing while Sansa (presumably more accustomed to the cold, being from the north) has this wool coat on. What?!
