mack brown shit the bed in recruiting the last few years he was at UT, so now the seniors/juniors, who should be the core of his team, are average to below average. There’s some promise in the freshman/sophomore classes, but it’s too much to expect a team to be led by the kids.
Okay, they are getting destroyed today. But TCU is probably going to the playoff (if they beat Baylor). And ND is pretty good (Texas did get them before the injuries; still got beat handily).
The 4-speed ban on anything with a V8 (Mustang II, Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, even Nova and Malibu in the late 1970s) was because the engine would burp out an extra little blast of emissions when the throttle was lifted for the shift. Hence, autos only from 1975-1980.
And the 400 wasn’t available in California, nor was the 4-speed.
That is a long list of BORING!
Now class...here we have an example of a man who gave zero f__ks...do take note!
An Open letter to Channing Tatum:
You fellate your dad with that mouth?
I think that is one of the best things Hammond has done. He went genuinely hoping to meet and learn about a hero of his. It was very awkward as it was toward the end of Evel’s life and he knew he didn't have much time left. It still made for an intersting program though.
He started on American Eagle (Italian Laverda) motorcycles and went to Harley when they stopped importing them. That was the beginning of his problems.
I met him in 2000. I’ve met celebrities before. Evel is the first, and only, I’ve ever gushed over.
These would be a cool parting gift after showing Being Evel:
Richard Hammond did a documentary on Evel Knievel. It was shot right before he died, and Hammond got to meet him. Pretty interesting. It sounds like Being Evel is similar (and I definitely want to see it), but if you want a different perspective, that might interest you.
Yup. The movie points this out - his red, white, and blue outfit with the big stars on it really resonated with a country that was in the doldrums of the early 70s (Vietnam, oil embargo, etc). Born in the late 70s, I knew who Evel was as a kid but I didn’t have the same context. I never experienced him as a superhero…
He was a unique guy that did his thing at just the right moment in time.
God I hate the new Murano with a passion. Any Nissan really.
mine is still running like new at 38k.
One of the best looking cars, ever.
A good enough reason to post a pic of my new baby!
