I thought that Proper Enthusiasts reserved the “SUV” term for body-on-frame vehicles like the Suburban, 4Runner, Wrangler, etc. Everything else, no matter how boxy / square-fronted, is a CUV.

The GM Department of Badge Engineering *just* got out of their 35 year probation period from the Cimarron debacle. This is their first project. They had really hoped to work on the Cadillac version of the Bolt, but unfortunately GM cancelled it while they were still in probation.

Damnit I just checked my garage. There is a car parked there with *no FBI logos*. The FBI is getting sneaky — now they’re using blue cars, too!

I’ll chip in $100 for someone to get this paint job as a custom wrap on a C8!

Seems like this truck stop should lose 95% of its business overnight??

How about we just enable this speed limiting technology after the first (excessive?) speeding ticket for a period of 1-2 years? The problem is that with a some of these people, they don’t care if they have insurance or a valid license — they’ll just jump in some random car and drive anyway. I’ve definitely seen this

One of those protections is that all warranties are transferable.

I guess the ‘midcycle’ refresh is 2023? From what I read, Volvo did a very minor update to the 2023 XC90 by adding a “mild hybrid” system to the two cheaper drivetrain options, but they still retain the same 2.0L Turbo (T5 / B5) or the 2.0L Turbo+Super (T6 / B6). The PHEV (T8) drivetrain seems to be unchanged.

Things like the Volvo S90 and (especially) the Escalades end up being decent deals since they share tons of parts with cheaper and higher-volume models.

On the other hand, I’m all for people taking their ($92K base price) F450 King Ranch onto a dirt lot, trashing it by attempting to drive like this, and thereby removing it from public roads.

I wonder if this shares significant amounts of DNA with the Lexus RX?

A coworker of mine whose house interior was ‘totaled’ due to extreme smoke damage from a small fire also got a ‘bad faith’ judgement against an insurance company. If you’ve ever got an insurance claim that’s greater than the $XX,XXX range, then you need to get a lawyer on your side or you will be screwed.  (not sure

Honest question — in a case like this where you’re truly clear of anything suspicious in your car, couldn’t you end up with pissed cop calling a couple pissed friends to fully harass you for hours by denying a search? It is absolutely within your rights to deny a search, but what’s the advantage in “never consenting

I’m speaking about the average Volvo CUV buyer, who is probably trying to decided if they should get the CUV with a 3rd row or not. Also Americans generally don’t like small cars, unfortunately. I think small cars are great, personally.

I was just coming to say the same thing.  This car is begging for 18" wheels.

(hrm, reply didn’t work first time...)
I’m firmly in the camp of “build the border wall, but leave a gap at the bottom just big enough for kids so we can put them to work as janitors in auto plants” That’s the ‘murican dream, right: exploit the poor, trodden-upon masses and put a gun in every hand.

Quite frankly, this is Zhejiag Geely Hold Group finally starting to cash out Volvo’s reputation as a safety-focused near-luxury European brand with a low budget subcompact EV. The exterior design looks nicer than a Chevy Bolt, but park it beside an XC60 or XC90 and people will laugh. Park it next to a lifted F250, and

There’s a big difference between a computer mouse, tv, or iphone and a car. The car manufacturering chain is a set major employers, who also have strategic importance (i.e. who built tons of planes, tanks, etc during WWII).

I suspect it’s more of the modern Silicon Valley software-focused development development process and aggressively-ambitions/competitive management layers that are causing most of the problems:
