Ford went full Elon with their $40K electric F150: remember the Model 3 was suppose to start at $35K. Tesla did sell a few at prices under $40K, but they were not easy to order. I suspect Ford was able to allocate a small percentage of production to the $40K model so that they can point to a few people who actually

I’m pretty amazed by the real-sized tires, fender gaps, and lack of weird angular trim around the wheels. Looks good.

I definitely agree that the Challenger and Charger are huge fat barges, and they make better use of their overall ‘footprint’ for passengers than the Camaro and Mustang (also oversized IMO).

So you’re saying that intelligence does *not* help us survive? I’m not sure if there is much other advantage we have over other great apes. Darwin’s theory does not allow for survival of the lucky, which is all that ‘ESP’ amounts to.

Normal white paint can easily be 90% reflective. This is 97%. You’ll only ever be able to see it if you’re parked next to a less-white car. You’ll save a very small amount of energy cost by reflecting that extra 7% of light away.

It was premium... highest I saw now is $7.29/gallon. I bet the ripoff-gas for rental-car-returners station beside SFO must be up to $9.00!  lol

Yeah this design screams out, “premium sporty rental car” versus New Sports Car. To me, the narrow headlights and featureless hood make the car appear even more bloated / oversized than it actually is.

I saw premium go from $6.99 to $7.19 in my neighborhood between Monday and Thursday of this week.

I’ve always wondered, but never asked: why are 2WD trucks sometimes labeled “4x2"...?

Yeah I bet this will directly result in some fights and arrests eventually.

Starred for pictures!

But with the blue paint, you automatically get the ‘blue-line’ black american flag logo.  That counts for a lot in police work!

Interesting — I don’t think you’ll find many cars that exceed EPA stats when run by C&D long term reviewers.

I definitely understand that Nissan has not put many design resources into anything recently, but are these really *that* much worse than an Audi, Acura, or Volvo of the same price?

I’m just surprised it’s not closer to the MX-5. It’s more like a mid-sized 4WD CUV or station wagon. I guess there is a mpg penalty for the MT vs the Auto, too:

Yeah it’s amazing how big the Mustang is: to me, it just seems like such an inefficient use of space given the overall size and wheelbase.

How bearable is it to drive in commuting / stop&go traffic? Lots of these will sell to people who use it as a primary car and will be driving it to work for most of the miles.

Quad cab pickups *are* personal luxury for many of the buyers. Look at something like the 2-door Lincoln Mark VI: it was 216 inches long! The quad cab F150 is only 7% longer.

Most of my life I’ve agreed with you — I’ve been in climates too hot for convertibles. Now I live in CA, and the weather is quite a bit nicer than the places I’ve lived in the eastern half of the US. I’m still a bit on the fence, though, because I expect a convertible to be too damn noisy on the highway.

Manufacturers can and will offer test drives (like Tesla) when the Dealership Cartel allows them. The problem is that many dealerships are the literal definition of ‘good ol’ boys’ whose families have spent the last 100+ years ripping off their customers, lining their pockets, and bribing local politicians.
