I took a driving class at Sonoma one time. One of the first things they tell you is to put your seat a low as possible. Keeping your seat high tends to direct your line of sight toward the nose of your car. Keeping your seat low forces you to look ahead of the vehicle, giving you more reaction time.

Overall it’s not *bad* but the fender-to-wheel gap looks ridiculous in real life. The fake lighting of the rendered image hide this much better. They’d be much better off not coloring the fenders black around the wheels since this emphasizes the ‘on stilts’ look.

1. Let’s cue up the, “I need a 0-60 time of <5 seconds to safely merge” crowd. I’ve driven a 3.0L diesel Sprinter van enough times that I can easily say a ~12 second 0-60 is just fine.

Yeah it’s amazing how some people will drive a significant distance or spend time in line to save ~3% on gas. (That’s what it is locally at Costco, at least.)

If I had $90,000 in my pocket right now, there is nothing else I’d buy. I don’t know how this reflects on me.

Congrats on the new truck — I’m glad you enjoy it.

It’s pretty distinctive looking (meaning is definitely a Bentley Continental when you see it), but it also looks very similar to a ~20 year old Continental. Maybe it’s time to shake up the design a little bit. Perhaps the BMW designers could lend them some time 🤣

When I look at the pricing, I see:

Exterior and interior look amazing in the photos (for the price), but those 2-tone seats *must* be an after-market add-on. I bet all the carpet and headliner have been replaced too. I’d guess the entire interior matched the condition of the steering wheel until it was replaced.

Yolk:

base dual-motor Polestar 2 ($49,900)

The last thing the shopping mall parking lots of the world need is a >$100K modernized retro-1980's SUV with less off-road capability than a decent Wrangler and equally crap gas mileage. This design gets the job done for 90% of the users and even has a PHEV version.

Adding ~100hp and ~100lb/ft on a 2 liter engine is a ‘light’ tune?  It might be an *easy* tune, but I’d guess it greatly exceeds design parameters on the engine / transmission that will impact reliability.

If you got similar hp/torque curves, why does it matter? I’m pretty sure Toyota’s going to build a reliable engine. The RX is pretty much a pig anyway, with a 0-60 of almost 8 seconds.

Overall I think that GM is pretty great at engine design, so this is pretty cool. Maybe it’ll be a pushrod design 😀

I’ve had people at work tell me, “oh i get so much work done with my laptop on flights.” On some airplanes I literally cannot get my fingers on the keys because when I have the laptop on the tray table, my fingertips are pretty much touching the screen.

Replacing a 3L+ V6 with a turbo 4:  Toyota is right on schedule, about 10 years behind the competition.

Congrats to VW, the Arteon now has the same amount of hp as a $35K V6 Camry.

Their in-cabin renderings need some work. Obviously the shit-stained carpet is bad, but this room looks pretty damn lame for a ‘theater’ ? room:

Maybe like a river or of some shit.
