Yeah the article doesn’t make this 100% clear because it it trying to beat up the corrupt politician 1st, and report on his action 2nd.

1. Unfortunately, I bet these will be priced around $50-55K if they get 300miles of EPA range.
Overall it’ll be a good car with good performance and Honda reliability / resale value. It will start out cheaper than a mid-level GTI. I don’t get the hate for this car, either.
Isn’t the comparison of the Q60(?) coupe with the 370Z a more 1:1 comparison? Of course the big sedan vs. the little coupe doesn’t match up well.
Some stats on the 1997 Integra Type R (taken from Car and Driver):
You can’t go fast enough to ‘skip’ atmospheric drag. Wouldn’t this thing need to be going 1000's of mph at ground level?
Like the Porsche, the Audi SQ7 fits the bill exactly. You can probably get one that is 1-2 years old in the requested price range, even.
These things are pretty insane due to the heat shielding / g-forces / and vibrations the module has to survive. This thing is at max velocity when it’s at min altitude, where the atmosphere is thickest. It’s going to need some massive ablative heat shield to make it through the first 10k feet of atmosphere.
New wiring loom?! Is that a maintenance part on these cars? I’d be worried about electrical gremlins.
it was a joke
That’s hilarious (the Star Trek thing). Sorry you got such loony neighbors.
Those matrix headlights look interesting, but they won’t illuminate the road — they’ll just glare the hell out of everyone in the oncoming lane.
You are correct — I’ll probably even test drive an ID.4 soon (but it’ll be AWD for the much better acceleration). It is just a bit boring looking. I do prefer the sedan shape, which is more efficient, too, but VW is trying to get a vehicle that appeals to the broadest group of consumers.
Maybe this is just a militant environmental group attempting to convince people to buy EVs?
Exactly, she was fighting to Stop the Steel Conspiracy. There are 100% all-natural, gluten free, homeopathic paints that will ensure these steel plates are stronger than ever. And by the way, steel is strong metal — whoever says it can break is *lying* to you!
I believe that non-metallic, understated colors can look good on a car with an exotic shape because it might help you focus on the shape more than the color. On something like the above generic-station-wagon shape of the Audi it looks like crap.
Last time I drove around in Yosemite NP in the winter, it was chains-mandatory near the park and in the park. I don’t think they cared if you had 4WD, just required chains.
The “rear tire has traction” argument may not hold for America’s most popular commuting vehicle: the unladen pickup truck
...and as others have pointed out, something no one wants after they realize the photos are pretty but it’s a bad design.
Yeah, I don’t hate the Mach-E, but I wish they had decided just to make it a sedan rather than sedan/CUV mix with Mustang details. It’s hard to go with a Mach-E vs. the Model 3, except the Ford gets an additional $7500 off it’s sticker price.
