Come on Aston Martin, I know you’ve got highly paid designers. Can’t you fix this horrendous mess:

While the supercharged 3.8L is a decent engine for the period, and typically lasts forever, do NASCAR fans who actually know anything about cars have any respect for a Monte Carlo like this? It’s like the ultimate ‘poser’ car...

Just ask FloridaMan.  He drives one.  It was really only popular in the Pan Handle, so you might not have seen many of them driving around in the rest of Florida.

(lol ... caught by the holiday repost of old material!)

Now that’s going to have trouble at an emissions test! :)

(missed the article the 1st time around, but the history is very interesting)

I had a few friends in medial school while I was in grad school. One of them called me from the side of the road one evening sounding quite panicked.

It’s not a floor shifter like the eGolf, but I suspect it has the same functionality??

Why would you ever use light rail on surface streets instead of buses?

Lol failure by my eyes or brain on that part!

Grampa mobiles are more in the realm of 20+year old sedans. Mom mobiles are the CUV’s that drop off kids in grade school.

Everything about the front end of that 1975 Camaro got uglier.  The extreme-inset lights, the tilt of the grille, the chrome on the grille, the bumper... it’s all ugly.

While CUV’s are not exciting, and have become this generations ‘soccer-mom car’, I’d hate to drive the majority of *Malaise Era* cars over *any* CUV produced today.

+1 to the volvo’s getting expensive pretty close to the end of their warranty period.

Rural areas are pretty bad, too. I’m from the Deep South, but have met several gun-toting rednecks from upstate New York, seen some Confederate-flag flying racists tearing around in a pickup truck about 1 hour west of Boston, and personally know an Indian-American who was discriminated on based on (darker) skin color

It would also be utter carnage if there *is* manual control... unless you treat these are experimental aircraft that require a pilot’s license and proper airport or helipad. Can you imagine someone avoiding powerlines in a suburban area, or any type of commercial area?

Answer: The entire car... the taxi is the most popular car subscription service!

In Alabama, they prefer to be called the “Y’all Queda”

Yeah I think a couple guys dragging spike strips at the perimeter of all protests will be a requirement in some states from now on, since car-ramming-protestors is becoming ‘legal’. (Florida, Oklahoma, we’re watching you.)

Yeah I’d take a set of real analog gauges (or digital pictures of analog, if necessary) plus Carplay on a center stack touchscreen over the old design any day.
