I’ve had a spectra winch rope on my 4x4 for years. Absolutely love it. Soooo much easier to deal with than steel rope, and if it fails, I don’t have to worry about it slicing up any onlookers to a winching operation! Though, I still do use the sandbag drapes from the winch kit out of habit...

Ah, you discovered the fun of a poured floor removal? Yeah, the concrete-like material is supposed to be there. The wire mesh is...a nightmare. I still have scars (mental and physical!) from slicing my hands up removing the floors in my bathrooms.
I don’t know how it’s in the US, but over here in mainland Europe garages will only hire people who have the right diploma from a technical school.

Can confirm. By his mid-70s, my great uncle was legally blind (total Mr. Magoo glasses), and had a history of heart attacks (my parents realizing this is what ended my flight training with him when I was a teenager).
