Reading through these comments....am I the only one here who doesn’t add milk or sugar to tea? In fact, the idea of adding dairy to tea actually repulses me.
I think that may depend on where you were located as well. When I was in high school (Northern VA, early 90s) during deer season, many kids (who had parents’ notes to leave early to set up to hunt that afternoon/evening or were coming from an early morning hunt) didn’t want to leave their rifles in their vehicles all…
It’s curious how television often can be so narrowly approachable by cultures that, while different, also have so much in common. I’ll have to look for Kath and Kim, see how it grabs me. I’ve been able to watch a few Aussie shows (thanks, Netflix!), and am always looking for more.
Oh Sean, if Brooklyn 99 or Community don’t do it for you, I’m afraid there’s no hope! ;-) Seriously, though...both of those are really in-your-face, over the top comedy, so if you prefer subtle humor, you’re not going to find it there.
Wait....was Jet not supposed to be black?
Absolutely agree. My company recently (about 18 months ago) got a new CEO, who is old-school, butts-at-the-desk, anti-telework.
“...if egregious examples of blatant racism aren’t shoved in their faces, will they think the work is done?”
“...or that we will recover as rapidly as others within the industry due to our strong footprint in densely populated areas.”
Mayo on the outside? Heresy!
The land on the opposing side is exactly what causes such a giant wave. The landslide displaces and squeezes the water against the opposite shore. that side also being a steep slope means all that water can basically only go one direction—down and out of the fjord.
Because there’s always someone else, willing to do [insert job] for less. Due to that, pay rates are always going to trend towards the minimum possible amount for which someone is willing to do the work. That sets the pay floor. Some places may pay slightly better, because they want higher quality employees, but it’s…
They’ll go right by these panels that suck electricity straight out of the sun!
To be fair, at the time of Order 66, she’s still only 17. When she shows up in Rebels, she’s 31 (40, by the time she and Sabine set off to Find Ezra in the epilogue).
It’s not 100% bad news, thankfully. A friend’s brother in law was just sent home after about 10 days on a ventilator (he was hospitalized for a week before that). He currently can’t walk (will need rehabilitation) and it absolutely destroyed his kidneys (he now needs dialysis three days a week), but his doctors are…
Oh awesome! I cannot WAIT until the first flight where I can creepily gaze through the plexi at my seatmate facing the other way! “Hi....how ya doin’?”
This isn’t a protest. It’s a luau for the mentally deranged.
I mean, technically, I’m an NRA member due to buying a “lifetime membership” when it was on sale about 20 years ago (figured the free legal services they offer if I ever had to use a gun defensively were worth the $300).
Fair enough. I was just being pedantic at George. He could’ve dropped a footnote or something!
It’s been a few years since I re-read the books, but if I remember correctly, the sand trout are the larval versions of sandworms. They encapsulate water (lethal to fully-grown worms), trapping it underground, allowing other trout to grow into the monster worms in the dryness left on the surface.
