The hypocrisy is about mail-in voting, not his registration address. Seems the emphasis of the original article is in the wrong place.
State laws do allow voters to register in locations that they do not reside in if that is their most recent resident. For example, a military member who lives overseas can use the location of their last residence as their registration address.
