It’s mostly making an educated guess based on checking their comment and recommendation history. In case you don’t know how to do that, you click on the commentor username and you get redirected to their dashboard. There is a drop-down menu in the top right that allows you to see their comments.

Also Bally Mack that is replying to you. This person is insane.

Really. I noticed them doing it yesterday too. The replies were so shady I had to check them out.

I definitely understand the desire to jump in to tell them off. I have to force myself to hold back from doing that on Deadspin constantly. Be careful in the future, because they can dismiss you just like that and then they’re already ungreyed for the whole article. Jorni is now using that power to ungrey comments…

Yeah, I’ve gotten to the point that I check the history on anyone that I’m not familiar with. Even without checking, somebody didn’t find it suspicious that the comment with the most recommendations is in the greys?
