Wow, Chris Brown is gonna be hella disappointed when he finds out beating cancer isn't what he thinks it is.

Ermagerrrrd, my world-view is shattered! *Faints*

STAGING SCENES? What is this witchcraft? Almost as though it's being filmed for a show!

You mean reality shows aren't real?!

It has a standard IEC powerjack, so not likely a brick.

I won't argue with your view that it's hideous - I disagree - but I would love to hear from you why you think it's hideous.

Good. My optical drive on my Mac Mini failed I'm assuming from infrequent use. I took it out and replaced it with an SSD. I honestly dont understand what everyones hang up with the optical drive is. Get an external if you really need it.

If you need them so badly I imagine they are already on your current computer. And if so, it would be faster to transfer from one HDD/computer to the other than th go CD by CD from the originals, right?

That's a crock. Some professional.

Don't get me started on "IT" people. Don't need 'em, and never will.I make the decisions for everything, because I run my company. So do the rest of the people I do business with. We don't get caught up in any BS. We just buy and use what we like, and what works for us. And historically, Apple products have never

MacBook Air, iMac, Mac Mini, rMBP, and now the Pro have all lost the optical drive. Not to mention the TV, iPad, iPod and iPhone that never had them in the first place. The ONLY current apple machine you can still use discs with is the MBP.

I'm trying to figure out who or what this "pro" user you're imagining is. Server farms? Mac Pro was never a machine for server farms. It is a machine for video editing, 3D modeling and rendering, audio production, and other types of work that require many processors cores, lots of RAM, high-end workstation GPUs, etc.

Do you know what qualifies as professional? Someone or something which does work for money. I've made good money using almost every kind of computer Apple has ever offered. Desktops, laptops, and odd things in between.

As a software engineer who just re-installed the OS along with every bit of software that I need, I did not use one CD/DVD. Even the OS was downloaded from the interwebz and installed from a USB stick.

Most if not all softwares rely on downloads or are cloud based. I haven't bought a software on disc in a long time. The last physical media i got was a USB with Lion on it for my macbook two years ago.

It's funny that their desktops should lose their optical drives before their mainstream laptops. It's laptops that benefit most from space savings and more internal room going to battery. Hopefully next MBP refresh, they take the design of the rMBP and drop the drive for good across the board.

External optical drive. More and more software is moving away from optical media to downloads or cloud based, very slowly, but will eventually all probably one of those 2 ways. Business and gaming has been making that switch for quite some time now in it's own creaky and inconsistent sort of way.

I don't think you know what evaluation means.

There's a difference between helping a species that is "almost ready" for warp drive, and just handing it to them on a silver platter.

"Yes, please, let's not forget the poor men, who make up a whopping 15% of the domestic violence victims (nonsarcastic saide: this includes situations in which the violence is mutual, or the woman used violence in response to violence), who are far less likely to be hurt by domestic violence given the differences in
