Eh, there is a fine line of “enough gear” and then “too much gear” imo. If you are track riding or racing(on a track sweet Jesus) then yea a spine protector is great but on the road I don’t see a reason for it.

Jacket, Gloves, kevlar jeans/riding pants, boots and of course helmet is all you really need to stay…
