It’s sort of weird that the AV Club didn’t put out a Dennis Hof obit. I’d imagine there’s some overlap among the commenters here and fans of Cathouse.

Why is Norm’s show “probably doomed?”

It’s a few weeks old now, but Bruce Vilanch on GIlbert Gottfried’s podcast is an absolute delight, especially if you’re a fan of old variety shows.

Best episode I’ve seen in years. I love how the Maggie-Gregory murder-plot stuff was wrapped up in a single episode. The show is at its best when its pacing is quick.

Every AV Club news article these days has the tone of a humorless person attempting sarcasm.

I’ve started to think of New Adventures as maybe their best album, despite being sort of dismissive of it at the time of its release. I love their early stuff, of course, but some of the songs on New Adventures can almost bring me to tears.

AV Club writers--and especially William Hughes--are masters of the malevolent paraphrase, in which the subject’s words are given the worst possible interpretation.

Auckerman comes across as not even a casual fan but, rather, someone who owns the early records out of sense of duty but mostly finds the band annoying. I feel like each of

Does it seem that Adam Scott and Scott Aukerman are getting sick of each other? I know a lot of their REM podcast is tongue-in-cheek, but I just finished the Man on the Moon episode, and there seems to be a real tension there.

This article and these comments are the absolute embodiment of what this website has become.

At least Robin Williams beat him and not Greg Kinnear.

Damn. I just re-watched Boogie Nights for the first time since its release, and he’s fantastic in it, as he was in pretty much everything.

I had scholarly pretensions and chose it to fulfill my foreign language requirement. I switched to Spanish after one semester.

I took Latin in college, but, in lieu of studying, I spent all my time in the library periodicals room, looking at back issues of the Village Voice.
