Ooooh yes. I love this. And you’re right; taking bernie’s name in vein gets you in a lot of hot water.

I definitely didn’t say that Bernie bros are the reason that Clinton lost, but go on being righteously angry at your straw man
I don’t think that “people who like Bernie Sanders” are bernie bros. I like Bernie Sanders! My mom and husband and best friend (the three most important people in my life, whose political opinion I deeply respect) all voted for Bernie. (I ultimately voted for HRC, but it wasn’t an easy decision and I would have…
Wow, you know so much about me! And it’s so accurate!
I was being flip and so wasn’t very clear. It’s specifically purity politics that make me nervous. The far right has perfected this and as a result ground congress to a halt. I really don’t want liberals to pick up that same flawed logic, where we turn on potential allies because they aren’t pure enough in their…
Oooh, pragmatic progressive. I like this phrase. Count me in. (Also, I agree with your assessment entirely.)
I dashed off my comment quickly, and I realize I wasn’t very clear.
Basically Bernie bros are turning into the Tea Party on the left, and as a result will contribute to the many things currently fucking us all over.
If saying, “Well we don’t legally have to do anything more here” is your best defense, you’re going to have some pissed off customers.
Right? I fly once a month for work and I’m not going near a united flight with a 10-foot pole.
Right but the PR response was super shitty. On twitter the didn’t explain what a pass rider is, didn’t make it clear that regular customers can keep on wearing leggings, didn’t offer your generic corporate condolences. The douchey reaction on twitter by united’s PR team is what caused that story to go viral.
If Trump’s approval rating keeps falling (which it will as the Russia story keeps developing imo), I could see Rs turning on him to save their own asses. Especially if he keep fucking up their agenda (botching healthcare, shitting on the freedom caucus).
I find golf very tedious. I don’t go find blogs about golf and post about how ridiculous and boring it is. So maybe look into your heart and think about why you feel the need to come and make this comment? Why do you need to have an opinion about how this actor feels about gender?
So if someone calls you “he” and you consider yourself to be “she,” you don’t get a preference? How is they/them any different?
This! I use they/them as a singular pronoun ALL the time in the sitaution you outline, because I think it’s a lot easier and less awkward than “he or she.” I have a coworker who goes by they/them, and I do sometimes have to think carefully so as not to misgender them, but it’s really nbd.
People choose their own pronouns, so if someone says I prefer they/them then no, there aren’t acceptable alternatives. Some people go by ze/hir. But, again, it’s a matter of personal preference and then respecting that preference .
I’ve heard that this is exactly what all the Russian experts think was/is Putin’s main objective.
Pence is going out of his way to avoid knowing what’s going on. Remember how much of the Flynn story line was about what Pence (gasp) didn’t know?
Imo United’s TERRIBLE response on twitter is what caused this to blow up. If a normal person with an iota of PR common sense had been manning the twitter account they could have calmly explained what the pass rider & subsequent dress code thing was, apologize for the inconvenience, and move on. Instead they doubled…
Except there are literally people on record, in interviews—living in key swing states that went to Trump—who voted for Bernie in the primary, but Trump in the election.
