I don't think "clicking speed" is the reason most people buy performance mice. Smoothness and accuracy (DPI), weight and shape, and extra configurable buttons are the reasons I would go with. There were still damage calculations going on in Zelda and Morrowind. They just weren't flying past your screen in an SCT format. I mean, if you don't want to know which weapon/ability has the most efficient damage output, that's up to you - but I like the numbers, honestly.
