From what I've read, the only thing convicting him is the testimony of two other boys, who were also involved, who were also impaired, and agreeing to testify so THEY wouldn't be prosecuted - and all they testified in the trial whose transcript I read is that his hand was "near her crotch area." I'm not saying that's

"But we will say that Trent Mays and Ma'Lik Richmond are not lovable scamps getting into mischief because boys will be boys. They are rapists. They made the conscious decision to rape a woman. They made a conscious decision to brag about it online."

That sounds kind of mean, but I agree with the sentiment. At least some of the people I know buy organic, free range, fair trade, etc. because they want to feel superior to the people who don't, not because they necessarily care about the welfare of the Earth/animals/farmers.

"Florida pointed to cities like San Francisco and Seattle as bastions of highly-educated, creative residents."

Agreed.

Well, exactly! There is a difference between being honest and being a truthful asshole.

"Why, in a relationship that is ostensibly willing and equal with someone who is not a buffoon, could one partner not tell another partner something truthful about their appearance [...]?" is different than the question asked in the headline, "Why Can't a Man Ever Tell a Woman the 'Truth' About How She Looks?"

I'm going to grad school in SD and my husband is getting his PhD and teaching at a university here. He hates it because he's from Boston and thinks the people are too nice, but I very much enjoy the good weather, the bars, the restaurants (we own a restaurant), and the beach. Depending on where you're coming from and

Maybe if you keep telling yourself that, you'll start to believe it!

Well, I'd imagine HBO measures its ratings differently since they have a smaller number of subscribers than regular cable networks, and also HBO shows only stream online, legally, if you're an HBO subscriber, so they don't have the people who might be watching on Hulu or CBS.com or things like that.

They do a little better than 500,000 http://www.deadline.com/2013/01/hbos-girls-dips-in-season-two-premiere-enlightened-up-in-new-night-return/ (866,000 for the series 2 premiere) I know New Girl has 4 million viewers average, but I don't know how good that 866,000 people is for premium cable vs. regular cable.

So true. I always see "UM, Hugo is a misogynist/idiot/asshole/rapist! WHY ARE WE STILL HEARING FROM HIM?!" on one of his articles. You'd think they'd have figured out that we're still hearing from him because his articles get clicks/comments.

They're doing the exact thing to ensure that these recaps keep getting written ad infinitum! Which I'm fine with, but they, clearly, are not.

Cool Whip is ready-made imitation whipped cream sold in (like you can see in the episode) tubs.

You aren't, but you're the first one I've seen on this particular article. Maybe you're in the demographic that "hate reads" these recaps (I like them, and I like the show) but I have to wonder if they'd keep posting them if all of you guys, collectively, just didn't read them instead.

I don't think it's offensive, I just don't understand the urge to play "let's talk about who is more oppressed," especially in this scenario. I think most black men would probably really love to get treated by the police the same way the police treats white women.

I was always under the impression women choose to be pantless whenever possible.

You know, I have to wonder why there's always a significant number of people who comment, on every Girls article, "I have never seen this show. Should I?/It's dumb/Write about something else." They keep posting these because the traffic on them is relatively high compared to more serious articles, and if you don't

"so maybe you have to go change and then we can be in love in another time."
