It usually would be, but the sword has been featured prominently in the cinematic Square has released.

Worth noting that Dragon Quest XI does feature Erdrick’s Sword, which ties this game to the first Dragon Quest. I’d imagine it’d be similar to the Zenithian equipment you find in IV-VI, but you never know!
