Has anyone looked into David Grusch’s background to see what he actually did in the government? I did a quick search and couldn’t find anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy is totally lying about what he did for the government or is totally delusional about it.

There are answers to every one of your questions if you had bothered to actually read a couple of books instead of coming here thinking that your questions are smart. Here are the answers to all of your questions one by one.

OBLIGATORY

The main thing everyone should be taking away from this is that being in the military makes you no less susceptible to becoming a crackpot conspiracist than any other person in society, and there’s no reason to act like service automatically grants you credibility.

If any aliens are out there, they probably see Earth as a backwater hick planet and are using us as a toxic waste dump, or some sort of crash test target for UFOs. We’re getting the dummy E.T.s., not Spock.

In the past, you could trust the US gov’t to behave in an adult, serious manner - if anything it was a bit too serious really most of the time (almost blowing all of us up by mistake once or twice during the cold war amongst other things, also, trying to build a secret nuclear base in the glacier ice cap on Greenland -

I sure hope someone got fired for rolled their eyes after being confronted with that blunder.

Hot Spock, he’ll clean up the Verse

Exactly. He was up there just behind David McCallum and Davy Jones.

Raise a glass for a those with the courage to fight the real enemies, internal and external.  RIP.

“...we’re living in a golden age of exploring the fact that Spock Is Hot.”

She was ahead of her time, misunderstood, complex and tortured.

This sucks.

Now playing

Absolutely devastating loss. One of the most beautiful voices in music. I don’t know when I’ll ever be able to listen to this again without crying like a baby.

RIP

“Fight the real enemy.”

And she was right about the true pedos - the Catholic Church.

Obviously not sure yet if it applies to this story, but still: If you have thoughts of suicide or self-harm, don’t act on them. No matter what country you’re in, there is free help available and things will get better. I’ve been close one or two times myself and am glad I didn’t do it.

Aw, how horrible. She was an interesting, deeply troubled artist with an amazing voice, some great collaborations, and lots of burnt bridges. Infuriating, up and down, energetic, all over the place... now the parasites and documentarians waddle in and package that messy life with a nice, neat narrative.
