I use it to look for hotels to stay in during my vacations, especially in cities - I like hotels near the main road, amenities and public transport facilities. I can even see how dense human traffic is in the area. Street View helps me to make a choice on accommodation. My mum it's a genius way to use it but I think

It's 100% my dad. All the nonsensical and repetitive emails making fun of the mainland Chinese's poor English, as well as video clips of car crashes or apparently people doing 'amazing' things. I've told him before to cut down on them and he has, but it still happens more than I'd like it too.

Don't worry I'm still on Chrome and not planning to move anytime soon.

Hmm maybe it's the way it was photographed that makes the lighting seem blinding.. I actually like this arrangement - even if it's a fake setup it's still a good way to get ideas.

I agree, since I'm not a power user either, whether of the many functions Gmail offers, or of my school Exchange account. Having the iOS app and my desktop sync the inboxes are quite enough for me.

I'm always surprised that WhatsApp is not included in such lists. Although it's not a free app (99c), it is a very lightweight and sturdy data-based messaging app. I guess with Google Voice, it isn't that necessary anymore. However Google Voice is not available where I live.

This internship sounds really cool. As I type this I'm on an internship myself. Exciting, to say the least.

Agree about the problems that HDD-style players gave. I have lost a few MP3 players and lots of music myself because of my buttery fingers. I have more than 6000 songs now, not sure if I'd be able to fit all of that into a Flash MP3.

That's true. And there's always the danger that your smartphone will run out of juice just at the moment when you need it. Or when I'm in a crowded area, I find that the 3G signal to be slower than a snail, making it impossible to access the information I need.

Oh my goodness the Creative Zune! My first MP3 player - reliable and good enough for me. Then again I've been with my current iPod classic for 4 years now and it's still serving me well. I'm sad about the death of large-capacity MP3 players like the Classic.

Dropbox, Wunderlist, and Google Docs for making school that much easier.

Yeah MT is new to me too. Thanks for the heads-up!

Somewhat related to that idea, I think it's good to permanently dock it to a set of speakers, so you can use it as a kind of stereo player in your kitchen or living room. Just turn it on and set shuffle on, so you get a neverending flow of good music! :)

Unfortunately, Google Voice isn't available outside the US! I use a combination of iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.

Love the way the laptop is raised. Yeah I'd lose the books. Blocking the full view offered by the windows!

Not surprised about Chrome actually losing on speed. Firefox and Opera have definitely proven to be faster than it. Maybe because of the load of extensions I've installed on Chrome. The only thing stopping me from using Opera regularly is the ugliness of it. Customization of appearance is so limited.

I can never have a sofa or piece of furniture on which I can lie down, in near proximity to my workspace, precisely because it calls to me to sleep on it.

I do love Wunderlist. The interface is simple, but there're still enough functions for me.

On the iPhone 4, I don't see much of a drastic difference in upgrading, but the notifications centre is definitely a cool feature. iMessage isn't that big a deal to me, since I already have WhatsApp. It may put pressure on iPhone 3GS users to upgrade though.

Whoohoo! I got my 50GB of free space. Now I just need to find things to put in it..
