Salma Hayek grew up incredibly rich, so marrying rich probably didn’t change her much.

I’m a feminist. But I still watch and enjoy Woody Allen movies. You can enjoy the art that shitty people make. Infact most people who make great things are usually pretty shitty people. I get if people can’t always disconnect though.

this movie inspired me to take a fucking nap.

I don’t think it’s reasonable to call any loss a success unless it directly leads to other wins, and I don’t think there’s any chance this loss will lead to wins. At best, it gives Democrats some greater hope for 2018, which (given the state of gerrymandering) can easily be dismissed as false hope until you begin to

Well there has been (Perez and Ellison both have prushed for it and hard) but a lot of people are still angry and won’t get over themselves. Biggest issues I’ve seen:

Even though I think it’s reasonable to call this close of a loss a success, never forget how adept democrats are at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

The only real difference (and why I’m not laughing at him entirely) is that the Fearless Girl was the work of an ad agency and is therefore purely corporate.

And Russia, don’t forget them.

As an Asian person I would like to say how frustrating it can be to tell people, yes we experience racism. And they’ll be like well you guys are so smart! And you’ll be fine.

That’s reverse racism!

As a reader of this thread, fellow hater of polyester and of ill-fitting clothing: everlane* changed my life. Cashmere, silks, basic tees, pants. Price point is similar to modcloth, a good deal lower than anthro, and the quality is exponentially better than both. Customer service is excellent, too. Everlane is not

I feel your frustration. And it’s so sad that there are so many of us, with so much money who want nice, well made clothes who have so few choices that we are willing to buy that crap and just be unsatisfied.

Glad someone had said this. So bored of all the bootlicking corporations get in ‘progressive’ spaces

I have bought clothes from them in the past, but I won’t in the future. I don’t shop at Walmart. I am Plus-Size. It’s not a dirty word. When I’m shopping online, I like to see what my clothes are going to look like on me, not on someone who weighs 100 lbs. Their clothes were always made with really cheap fabric

Ah the luxury of having never bought an item from Walmart. You obviously have never lived in a small town with poor parents, and the only place for 30 miles is a Walmart. In rural areas, it’s a necessity.

Last time I went to a Walmart, it was to buy a pair of steel toed boots for a film shoot on an industrial site. My impression of that store was it was a refuge for people who have completely and utterly given up. I could feel my soul and my identity being drained away every minute I spent in there, and I soon found

Just another lesson in how capitalist enterprises can never truly be feminist ones. In the war between do right by women/employees and make money, make money always wins.

MODCLOTH IS A WALMART BRAND?????

I like how their clothes looks, but the excessive amounts of polyester means I can’t actually wear any of it around people if I risk sweating even a drop of moisture, lest I smell like a wet dog next to a space heater.

Now playing

There are worse ads, I’m shocked this one hasn’t been mentioned.
