First off - we NEVER vote for local politicians. It’s time we stopped, get off our asses, and VOTE in 2018.

I think I was more referring to the fact that black culture is VERY MUCH American, and feeds into American popular culture... you know, the dominant culture and black culture inform each other - in terms of resistance and assimilation, but there’s a relationship. I think the people I’m talking about don’t make that…
Just because there are older people who aren’t racist doesn’t mean that there aren’t some who’ve said the above to me. Likewise with young people. One doesn’t rule out the possibility of the other
God bless you! But you know, a non-denominational bless since we accept everyone. And I agree with you. I’m starting to cringe anytime one of my fellow Dems gets in a fight with a Trumper and starts bandying around terms like “white privilege” or telling someone they’re bigoted. Attacking people with terms and…
I kinda think the same thing happens with the older generations and racism. Like my friend’s folks. They’ve said directly that black people come from a different “culture”
:-( I went at 7pm to vote. No. Fucking. Lines. At. All.
Taken out of context. Disagree
No... I’m just upset and frustrated. To be honest, I KNEW that they were fucking with voter rights (heard about it from N.Carolina) just didn’t realize how widespread it was till basically... today! Second, I’ve been really hurt by friends who’ve been filling my FB feed FULL of misinformation about Clinton. TO THIS…
No problem with being green - or even hating Clinton... So long as it’s based ON FACT! I dislike her because she’s a career politician that followed along with Bush when it was convenient for her to. I actually don’t have a problem with her record as SoS and think ALL of the email and Benghazi bullshit was ridiculous…
Sure, something like 2% (or was it 4%) voted for 3rd party. But also 11K voted for Harambe... So? Also it looks like 58% of eligible voters were able to register and make it to the polls. That’s actually really good since most years it hovers around 50%. That still leaves 42% of all those eligible(over18, naturalized,…
Ok - thank you. Doesn’t seem as grim as I was thinking. I was going off the numbers I got within the first few days after the election, though someone else had informed me that this was an exceptional year for voter disenfranchisement and gerrymandering.
I don’t believe that. When we had 64% of the American population failing to register or failing to vote... Maybe you can say that cities tend to vote more. I’d believe that.
Guuuhhh... No, I know you’re right. I already donated to a group for accuracy in journalism and the ACLU. Gonna go out and campaign with the DNC when it gets closer to 2018. Just not sure what else to do...
Somebody else made the observation that there was an EXCEPTIONAL amount of voter disenfrachisement this past election - something like 300,00 votes were lost in Michigan alone.
No - they just didn’t vote AT ALL. Only about 18% of eligible voters voted for the Pig-in-Chief, or 25.6% of all who were registered in time and made it out to a polling place.
God - you’re so right. [Going to hide in hole right now...]
THIS!!!! Everybody is getting their panties in a bunch on how to court the evangelical voter - FUCK ‘EM. Only 18% of all eligible voters even voted for him, and only 36% of eligible voters were actually Registered and Made It To A Polling Place in time. Dems have the numbers, they just DON’T FUCKING VOTE.
We LOST because we didn’t VOTE - period. And if you think risking the country because you didn’t get your candidate of choice then YOU suck!
