What do you mean “patterns run small”? They are quite literally based off your measurements. Assuming you measured correctly and followed the instructions for the amount of ease you’re supposed to use (which is based off the type of fabric), there’s no way for a pattern to “run small”

And, they’re not fucking FROZEN

That’s a really good point that I was going to mention, but decided I was getting too long-winded. It’s like how in certain parts of China there are children who are suddenly giants just because it is the first generation that’s had access to proper nutrition

Yup. Don’t doubt it ;-)

Of course they weren’t all, but people are statistically fatter now - something like 2/3rds of us are overweight now. You can look at pictures of people from the 40s, 50s, 60s and there really aren’t as many fat/overweight people. And there’s data you can look at to - again, I don’t have the websites, but doctors have

I’d have to do some digging. I know because I am a modern size 4-6 (depending on the store). Hips 38, waist 27, bust 34. I am 40 yrs. old and grew up sewing with a mom who grew up in the 60s using many of her patterns. While I am a little bigger than I was a teenager, I was using her 60s patterns size 12.

You’re glossing over the fact the size 14 of yester-year is today’s size 4. People are getting fatter and not necessarily healthier as a result. I don’t really agree with the OP that it’s similar to other things like Spanish menus (?) or asking people to reuse towels (??), but someone also mentioned that we should try

Got it. Glad we cleared that up ;-)

You’re somehow missing what I was saying. It is PRETTY COMMON to use a private email server. The PROPER PROCEDURE is to have a security agency approve of and set it up for you. She ALREADY HAD ONE cleared for Bill Clinton’s use, so she started using it, with all pertinent agency’s aware that she was using it. She

No worries... just got confused with the wording “double standard” - in the alt-rights warped vision, I’ve heard it said that minorities get it better than white men. Thought that’s what you were trying to say

Double standard? I’m what sense? I always thought Obama and her got it worse! And you think Dems get it easier? Really? Maybe you just think there’s only one status quo and blacks, women and Jews oughta have it harder since they don’t belong to it. Getting bothered that they’ve been invited to the club cause they

No. That’s not what I meant. What I meant was it is legal and permitted and pretty common to use a private email server so long as one gets permission first and has the security agency set up for the person requesting it. Jindal is only ONE of many politicians who use a private server. Just an example- sorry I can’t

That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that theory. I hope it’s not common. Talking as if the DNC and the various unrelated media organizations somehow forced the FBI and a bipartisan committee somehow drag out an investigation makes your scenario seem even more unlikely, bordering on conspiracy. Especially because

It’s protocol to delete emails... please at least not hyperbolize

She may have baggage, but the email issue and the issue of Benghazi have both been beaten to death and then some. Her voting record on the patriot act is troubling, her political angling to move to New York with *just* enough time to become senator and her Goldman Sachs speeches for pay should and do bother people

“Sent some emails incorrectly” is pretty accurate. Using a private server is perfectly allowed and not all that uncommon (I think bobby jindal was using one, among others). She didn’t get permission too, though, except that no one was really shutting her down. And you’re right, when people started to make a fuss about

The encroachment of evangelicals and public life never ceases. They’ve been successfully breaking down the wall between church and state for years, all under the guise of looking “wholesome”. There is nothing wholesome about theocracy

And please note, it’s never Johnny Sunshine with his eightball of cocaine, or Mrs. Doctors Wife with her little stash of painkillers

Listen, I really hate the emo, maudlin style that is Coldplay, but they had their own style, and their own sound, and they worked out arrangements for their songs that worked within the style that they had defined. No, they can’t play like Buckethead, or Charlie Parker, or sing like Julio Iglesias, but they did what

I listened to the chainsmokers for the first time yesterday. Gah! It was awful! Like really dumb melody lines... stuff that made “Twinkle, Twinkle” sound like an opera. But I guess people latch on to the simple, and that shit was sure simple... and bad!
