My 2016 RAM 1500 has that feature with the rotary dial shifter. Same ZF 8 speed transmission.

I have the rotary dial in my RAM truck. It did take some getting used to. I reached for the phantom column shifter a lot at first, and I’ve also stopped and turned off the ignition without putting it in park (never got out though). It puts it in Park for you after a second or two. I’ve even turned up the radio volume
