So, by your standards Eisenhower was a communist. Got it.

Slow car fast, light is right, yadda yadda. Still, he’s right.

Now playing

That may well be the scariest car engine, from probably the scariest class of cars ever, but I think that the 500cc 4 cylinder 2stroke GP motors that were making nearly 400hp/liter by the early 90's might be even scarier overall. They sounded pretty angry in person.

For that one, you take the thing that came out (you’re replacing that, right?) and using a grinder or file, put a notch in the threads along the axis if the fastener, and run it in and out a couple of times. The notch will scrape the threads clean.

Yes, chase your crusty threads, but don’t use taps and dies. They’re for cutting new threads. Using a tap and die can cut the threads undersized. Use a thread chaser.

Nice drawing of an interesting idea. I was on the mailing list ages ago, and did a brief bit on the forums a few years ago, but GCW’d after a bit too much ‘gun owners for christ’ and other such BS. I follow along on FB, though.

Is the CBR top shock mount mount in a position that you can duplicate the geometry on the hawk? What about the chain run? Big project...For me a long Penske and a VFR wheel works nicely on the bumpy roads around here.

If I remember correctly, Aristotle referred to the pratfall as the height of comedy in his Poetics. However, there is no slapstick in this scene. Lighten up, Francis.

Why do you want to put a cbr600rr SA on your Hawk? Why not a VRF wheel? - I really like the convenience and the look of the SSA on my Hawk.

What kind of tires are those, and how did you like them in the dirt and wet?
Many Ducatis have foot peg brackets that, to me, feel as though they push the back of my foot out and put strain on my knees. What did you think of the ergonomics?

It’s from the IIHS. They’re the propaganda arm of the Anti-Destination League. They’ve been pushing a Superbike Ban bill since ‘87. IOW, this study is bullshit and spin from start to finish.

Junior’s is good cheescake, but for the best cheescake, you have to go to 238th street in the Bronx. S&S Cheescake IS the best. Between S&S and the Stella D’Oro factory making the whole neighborhood smell of biscotti, I’m lucky they didn’t have to roll me out of there on moving day.

There is no such thing as a CL350 worth $5000. This is a fine cut crystal crack pipe.

Even those “robots” were remote controlled by actual meatbags. Autonomous racing seems like it would be almost as fun to watch as a computer benchmark contest.

No. No, it should not.

Yes, and I’ve powershifted the dogs right off the gears of a production racer. I avoided a low earth orbit transmission lock-up type crash by sheer good fortune.
It also causes wear on the transmission bushings, risks bending the shift forks, and wear on the shift drum as well. Not to mention that powershifting at

Bad bad idea. Clutches are cheap and easy to fix. Transmissions are expensive and difficult to fix. If you aren’t actually racing (actual races start with a green and end with checkers) use the damn clutch.

Ok, so if these big bikes are the equivalent of mid-size crossovers, what are the equivalent of full size crossovers or SUVs?

Yes, you are correct. We could start by paying teachers as much as prison guards.
