Larger type font could be more easily read by someone passing by, before Steve was given the card. They probably expected him to read the card before he spoke, which he did not. He probably saw “1st” and then word vomited.

I’d say it speaks to the misinformation or lack of education of the individuals more than anything. Why else would “reproduction = GET THIS THING OUT OF ME NOW” be ingrained in them? Normal people get pregnant and raise their children.

Makes you wonder why someone would think a child is such a horrible thing.
