We’re talking about the crazy world of collectors here, where unopened items are often worth ten times opened packages even if the contents are 100% identical. I assume that’s why traders would only check the box and, if it appears sealed and untampered, keep it that way + mark it as verified.

If it’s ripping off a regular amount of money, it’s shitty. If it’s ripping off 3.5 million, there’s no such thing as a person who spent that kind of money on Pokemon cards who doesn’t deserve to be ripped off.

You know how many people I have seen take off their mask to sneeze? You know doing the exact opposite of the one thing these masks were made to do...

I mean, I bought a Quest in 2020 for the same reason; long, cold winters.

If they’re trapped inside because of the winters then....yeah, this does kind of feel like win-win. If it gets used to just keep cows indoors all the time regardless of the season, that’s when it starts to feel a bit sad-dystopic.

No it’s because they can slap NFT on it, throw it into an unregulated financial market. And sell a bunch to people who’ve never played a video game. A lot of the root of the idea was how to break these things off from the game itself, out past that audience. How to make it an “investment”, or something an auction

Because the loudest, most online game fans. With the deepest pockets. Are deeply obsessed with this shit.

So they’re an easy sale.

Many of the people making games, come from that same crowd. So they think it sounds like a good idea. Many of the people running big publishers come from the financial industry, and they

There isn’t one.

Uhhh, where’s Deathloop?

I agree with you fully (and am also a fellow Philly IT guy), I think that maybe the problem IS the name. Cyberpunk the game has the same name as cyberpunk the genre. It’d kind of like if there was a tabletop game called ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ and someone made a video game based on it, also called ‘Zombie Apocalypse’. But

The thing is people that know that WANT those cliches. They are EXPECTED. T NOT have them shows you miss the point. It’s like trying to say you’re doing a Batman movie, but his parents didn’t die. Then it’s just not Batman it’s just Batman like. Cyberpunk with the Cyberpunk cliches are just... cyberpunk-ish.

Yeah, imo the bugs were about as bad as a Bethesda game.   Part of the charm, if anything.

You can appreciate media without glorying the authors. Lovecraft’s stories are great and its fine that it continues to inspire new authors.

I beat the game and it was just fine. My rig could handle it and it looked beautiful while playing the game. The story was alright but the world was just flat.

They mentioned setting the standard for what next gen open worlds could potentially be and fell short of even the current standards set by Rockstar. Not that

Even professional reviews are a joke these days. A few magazines used to have 3-4 people review a single game. That was my favorite format.

I would just like to ask...

On PC and current gen consoles, there’s no question it was a great game, and was perfectly reasonable to spend $60 on.

Tbh, I can’t say I ever felt like there was much substance in the game.

Hi

I sense you’re a fellow old person (i.e., ~30-40) and thus appreciate your old person review. These are the kind of takes I like.
