If he’d gone straight from Lost to this, I would be deeply cynical. But he made The Leftovers and that was a show that made me a lifelong fan. Thus far he's paid off that trust. NASCAR’s 2021 car needs to be much more like an Australian Supercar than what they’re running now. Granted, the Supercars and DTM have been drifting further away from “stock” for many, many years now themselves but they’re still more recognizable than what NASCAR bills as a “stock car”.

Australian Supercars runs on a bunch of street circuits and I’ve seen some pretty hard crashes and no problem with the walls. Current Aussie Supercars are only about 150lbs lighter than a NASCAR Cup Car.

I am a filthy avocado toast eating millennial, and I was floored by Fury Road. I think it’s properly rated, but that any movie with such wide acclaim is going to have some haters, high on their own contrarianism, who call it overrated.
