The Romans considered many other civilizations to be savage compared to theirs. They, however, just called them barbarians.

Man, fuck you and Dirty Harry. Ketchup is perfectly acceptable on a hot dog.

Neither are you since Pizzicato is clearly referencing the article’s dismissal of the dictionary definition.

How are they attacking Kotaku? (That’s a serious question. I’ve noticed the last couple days that Kotaku’s content has seemed...sparse but didn’t know if it was management or just me).

Just a a follow-up to the long comment, apparently the marketing worked.

While recognizing that most of the reply tweets were from bad actors, I would suggest the original tweet and the comment in the book are incredibly self serving. There’s a smarminess to explicitly tying your product to a work of a racist (named after his most famous work, which has some overt, cringe-worthy racism in

Evil Hat had some financial problems coming into last year so you should consider buying the book if you enjoyed the tweet. Otherwise you might not get to see people take stands like that as often on the future

Lovecraft and Howard both are writers that were a) SHOCKINGLY racist and b) not evidently so depending what book/story you read. It doesn’t make them less racist, but it definitely explains why you wouldn’t immediately recognize it.

It could also be that it was Nick Fucking Cannon.

I always heard it was Weinstein

I’ve really come around on Jude. I used to kinda hate him, but he’s been on a streak for the last decade that has made me really appreciate him.

I mean, I don’t think Jude’s got the reputation of say Leo, but he has to torch Errol just due to morality of the times, ease of travel, and the ease of communicating (once he decides someone’s “in” he could give them a phone for easy meet ups).

Cecilia is one of my favorite writers here, but the idea that she prefers multiplayer over single player makes me question her entire worldview!

Fuck. Yes.

While recognizing this isn’t the point of your post, I thought Yen looked too young.

My opinion of Syndicate never fully recovered from it sidelining Evie far more often than Jacob. She was a significantly better character. Same with Kassandra.

You’re touching on something important here. The characters make choices that ultimately drive the story forward. The original trilogy isn’t flawless, but I can’t think of anything a main character did that amounted to about a net zero plot wise.

I rewatched TFA and TLJ in the last month for the second and first times since the theater respectively and what struck me is just how damn likable Rey and Finn are together in TFA (a movie I’m pretty bleh about otherwise). Then they take that and decide they’re going to split them apart completely for the ENTIRE

I’d argue that Knives Out really benefited from tight editing. Some of that was probably in the script, but most of the laughs come from the way it cuts between people, making the lines pop.

I read that cleaning paragraph and wondered immediately if that kink would be treated so casually if the roles were reversed. I don’t know for sure, but it feels like there would be an article calling it out on Jezebel. At the end of the day, it’s two consenting adults, but it made me raise my eyebrows.
