The received understanding is that “random” is precisely what quantum mechanics is. It’s not just an issue of ignorance. Ignorance can’t interfere with itself (as in the double slit experiment).

He did make that assumption, but it’s not at all necessary for the argument. Just restrict the argument: a computer can simulate classical physics. Neurons and brains use macroscopic principles. No good evidence has ever been found that they rely inherently on exotic physics.
You seem to be arguing that a human brain works on conditional branching
Great job on reporting this clearly and without hyperbole.
Incoherent article.
We need to transition to driverless cars slowly.
21st century Helly is so dumb.
Not entirely true. For instance, complex numbers weren’t adapted to model anything.
Logic and set theory would like a word with you.
Almost nothing is known about him, so no. That story is usually attributed to a Pythagorean anyway.
They clearly didn’t proof read the article a single time; what do you think the odds are of them checking the comments?
Are you a troll? You sound like you really want me to be “deeply offended”. I’m not, I’m just pointing out that you’re acting like an asshole. I don’t quite believe that you didn’t get the memo yet, but racist jokes are still not okay in public.
Making blanket statements about the whole of a single race is racist. I can see that you’re used to Gawker culture so this may surprise you, but it’s not okay to do this when it’s white people, and it’s certainly not enlightened.
1. What do you mean, it’s “not matter”?
You must be wearing historical blinders to make such a comment.
Racist.
Sounded just as condescending to men to me, but who cares about that.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
I find it really hard to believe no scientist has ever determined the friction of solid nitrogen before...
