The Boltons had fought alongside the Starks before, and in fact were earnestly fighting alongside Robb at the start. He doesn’t wear leeches (a common medical treatment, by the way...) in public, and the idea that Robb should have perceived a million red flags because Roose had a “creepy” face is just silly really.

How was Harry supposed to know the tournament cup was a portkey to Voldemort?

I can’t read these articles without thinking that Pluto is just astronomers’ version of a camgirl.

But that’s exactly what I was saying. There are some facts of science which are not explained, probably cannot explained, and possibly do not even have an explanation. The symmetries of the universe are an example. They’re scientific knowledge because they’re observed, not because they’re explained.

Come on man, you can’t expect a science blog writer to get introductory physics right.

Something’s up with that equation... think you got the f and 2 switched around.

Yeah, you’ve just repeated yourself. I understand what you were referring to, you already explained that in your last comment. Try to catch up.

True, you can explain the conservation of momentum.

Two people have now posted the exact same criticism of your comment. Do you honestly think it was “obvious” what you were referring to and there’s a conspiracy to intentionally misunderstand you, or do you think maybe, just maybe, your communication wasn’t completely flawless?

Why does anybody suspect it’s a “warp drive”?

Thanks for putting this in perspective.

Are you speaking about your personal feelings as a scientifically inquisitive human, or about scientific principle?

Do you have any idea what you’re talking about? You can build a computer out of dominoes if you want, they don’t work via “fuck up weird” physics.

And how do you know that’s impossible in principle? You don’t, you’re just using your previous experience of other observations.

Combine Overworld.

You sound like an edgy teen, man. It’s not a “straw man” — I am not having a debate — I was just clarifying my opinion. Do you agree with what I said? It sounds like you do, so I’m guessing there’s nothing left to talk about.

Is the cholera bacterium a work of God? It’s an organism which lives by causing people in poor countries to die of dehydration due to extreme diarrhoea.

Why can’t it appear out of nowhere? Particles appear out of nowhere all the time. What evidence do you have that stuff can’t appear out of nowhere? It’s just a fact that you intuit. Why do you intuit it? Because on the scale of reality that your brain evolved to observe and model, stuff never spontaneously appears.

We heard the exact same outrage about Hitler.

There’s no such thing as proof in science. The conclusion has been made with around 95% certainty. That’s the fact. If you’re saying people who refuse to acknowledge the existence, methods, and results of these analyses are deniers, then yeah. But if you’re saying that somebody who understands the research but thinks
