I am welcoming any research why not more woman in gaming field. In my humble opinion though, I will say it just more a guy thing to fascinated with programming and developing video games than woman. I still welcome any female developer to join the gaming scene, nevertheless.

Generally speaking, not many woman into explosion and car chasing kind of stuff. Action oriented movie or games dominate by male for a reason. Male love action while female love more romance. Man watch car chase and football, when woman watch something soap opera and Twilight.
