Good point. The main problem of android/ios gaming is the lack of title that considered a "must have". Unlike Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo that have establish well known IP that have huge fans base supporting it, android/ios really lacking in this department.
Because it is hard, so it disrupt sleep. Especially during morning and wood sticking on customer cheek.
Sound like me. Minus the Xbox360, cause I don't have it.
"This mainstream sector of the market bought a console because it offered them the best balance of price/performance/convenience. Let's call these people "mainstream console gamers." They are the types of people who buy hits only—Madden, FIFA, Call of Duty, Halo only, i.e. not Kotaku readers. In fact, they probably…
Yup. agree. Console is easiest way to gaming, literally just buy, plug the cable and turn on the console. Then insert disk. That's all.
I think really depend on how much powerful Tegra 4 and the pricing tag of Nvidia Shield, and quality android game on it.
Really? I thought you need a PC in range for the steam on Nvidia Shield to work. The Nvidia Shield just stream game from the PC, or that what I thought. Care to clarify?
Yes, it really does. Ouya have advantage on its very cheap $99 price.
N-gage.. that thing broke my hope for decent gaming on phone for quite some times..
"In addition to running its own Android games, the Shield can also stream games from your PC to the controller, where you can either play them direct on the small screen or, more practically, output to your TV."
Actually, 3DS doing roughly the same than DS. It does sold horribly in its first year, but right now it sold just as well as DS.
Not shocking. Japanese prefer handheld more than home console, anyway. 3DS sold like hot cake while Wii U not as well.
I think game critic is still relevant. It can provide a rough picture of product that the customer planning to buy. How it play, the graphic, the sound, how it feel, control and so on. It also helps in exposing the buyer of the game technical problem, like a lagging and bug.
Excellent idea, the graphic jump between 2 subsequent yearly released game it too minor, but the price is just as expensive as other non annual game with major graphic improvement. FIFA 13 look exactly like FIFA 12, with just an improved physical engine that can just be included in a patch. And it still cost $50.
Some review can be very bias, prone to favor certain genre, franchise and company while judging a game. They will write a review that highlight the weakness of the game, and belittle the fun side of the game.
I think a Vita 'home console experiences on a portable device' is a very nice addition. I agree the part of quick bite size gaming part, but for a traveler that on airplane, train or car more than 3 hour Vita can be a very awesome home console alternative at time.
I totally understand a game is not for everyone, but Mario Galaxy 2 is a great game, shown by
They are sucks, touch screen games suck especially FPS and RPG. They are still there because it is cheaper to developed, compare to traditional handheld, console and PC. That is why there are so many of them.
I use the method whether to buy an OUYA or not just like other gaming device I have, if there enough interesting game developed for it. N.O.V.A 3 and Modern Combat 4 certainly caught my eyes, but it need more than that to be in my must have gaming console list.
