“low-key” => Loki. The poster I replied to commented that these actors are just variants of the video game originals. Variants, Loki, etc.

So it’s sort of a low-key video game adaptation?
I thought the series started great but ended really flat. Yelena is an entertaining character, but you could pull the entire Black Widow subplot and not lose anything from the Clint-Kate story. I also think bringing back Kingpin was mishandled. The show spent so much time trying to create a surprise reveal for the…
While I don’t doubt that most of those comments come from people with no military experience, there hasn’t been any compulsory service for an American to dodge since Vietnam, and that draft ended in 1973.
Fox Television is separate from Fox News Channel. Yes, both companies are owned by Rupert Murdoch, but that doesn’t mean Tucker Carlson and the cast of Bob’s Burgers are co-workers, etc. Local Fox TV news affiliates are much more anodyne than what FNC airs.
Huh, never thought of it this way. Do you avoid movies because you don’t like where the actors go to church? I would guess that Scientology had a much more broadly negative perception than Pratt’s church, but Tom Cruise films still draw extremely well.
I’ll withhold judgment in Chris Pratt’s Mario. I don’t expect it to be good, but I didn’t think Special Agent Burt Macklin could be the lead in a trilogy of Marvel superhero flicks, either. Pratt inexplicably nailing it seems like a thing that could happen.
Martin published ADWD *after* Rothfuss delivered his last book, so that one’s on you. If you wanted prolific, you should have moved on to Sanderson.
I think the idea that a prolific author/editor/screenwriter with dozens of titles to his credit has suddenly developed a poor work ethic feels off. Most folks his age are retired and don’t work at all; I suspect it’s more likely age has slowed him to the point he can’t deliver like he used to and he doesn’t want to…
The MPAA doesn’t kink shame.
It’s cool if you’re not into sports, but your take is vastly underrating Warner’s significance to pro football. He’s famous because he was unbelievably good.
The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are both PG-rated.
I scanned the article for exactly this. There aren’t many game characters I 100% associate with a single voice, but Sam Fisher is one of them.
In the way the Earth is arguably flat, sure.
Exactly. It’s not really Hellblazer, but it’s pretty damned entertaining.
The cover identity idea would require some rather deliberate retconning of Skyfall, as his parents’ gravestone is shown in the film.
I saw QoS in the theater, and was angry not even five minutes into the film from that spastic, whiplash-inducing car chase. It’s like the editor had watched The Bourne Identity on fast forward while snorting lines of coke just before he started cutting that opening sequence together.
In Soviet Russia, life imitates art!
Cynicism is boring.
Take-Two is internationally known, but it’s for being miserable douchebags. Rob would be disappointed.
