Don Mattingly manages the team, Derek Jeter is a co-owner. Who thinks Joe Torre is actually going to give Urena a suspension that’s worth a damn?

Man, I wish I could edit that post. I should have explained that since Brennan was an Obama admin staffer and decidedly not pro-Trump, his security clearance was essentially ‘honorary’ because the current administration would refuse to use him anyway, regardless of his expertise. Brennan, James Clapper, Jim Comey, etc…
Sure, but Trump wouldn’t rely on Brennan even if he was needed. That’s what I was getting at, albeit poorly - Brennan’s vocal opposition made his security clearance basically an honorary feature, as he’s persona non grata at the White House until at least 2021.
Yeah, a few people have pointed this out, and I should have clarified that it’s Trump’s disavowal of all things Obama that has made natsec personnel like Brennan into ‘honorary’ clearance holders, since he won’t use them in any capacity except verbal piñatas.
I mentioned this in another reply, but I should have said that in the Trump administration it’s effectively an honorary status, as he won’t reach out to/acknowledge the value of an Obama admin staffer for any reason. Brennen, Clapper, et al are effectively on the outside at this point as a matter of course, even…
That’s true. I probably should have clarified that under Trump it’s an honorary status, since he’s obviously not reaching out to prior admin natsec personnel for input.
John Brennan isn’t a government official anymore. He retired the day before Trump’s inauguration and has been a cable news pundit ever since. He maintained his security clearance after retirement, but that’s essentially an honorary status - he was allowed to view classified material, but he no longer has an agency to…
Not bad, but he’s no Juan Soto.
“We boomers are nothing if not accommodating.”
Boomers are nothing if not up their own asses about every damn thing you can imagine.
I ran that number to see how close you were, and you damn near hit the bullseye. If Freddie manages 700 plate appearances this year, that works out to $30,000 per trip, so $300 a percentage point. /golfclap
Youngest player in MLB history to homer in four straight games. Not that he’s Juan Soto or anything.
Okay.
Season to taste with a cut of prime rib? How does that work?
“lots of them can afford iPhones (and many can’t), but they only have a few choices of cell service provider, all of whom charge too much and offer shit customer service.”
You’ve got what he’s saying backwards; an eater’s preference for particular foods or cooking methods doesn’t limit them being knowledgable about other options. You can be a vegetarian and still know how to roast a delicious medium-rare prime rib, etc.
The Mets, for all their ineptitude, at least play for a championship every 15 years or so. The Browns haven’t seen a title game since ‘65.
But no, you must know better than the director of the movie.
They can be born nobodies, and still do something extraordinary.
Don’t forget to blame Lawrence Kasdan.
Rey Del Toro works for me.
